What to Expect
Personal LessonsWhether it's just learning chords and songs or exploring your potential as a shredder, I will be happy to cater my coaching to the indivdual needs of the student.
It's important to become headsmart about the instrument and to do this involves familiarizing yourself with the fretboard. Be it with notes, scales, or both I can show you simple ways to become familiar and know what your doing as you do it.
You Set the Pace
Like I tell all of my students: "You get out of this what you put into it."
Your success on the instrument will depend on your dedication to it. I will give you the tools necessary for individual success but you will need to practice, practice & practice.
A lot of the knowledge you gain will come from playing as often as possible so I encourage you to play, play often and have fun.
Basic Theory
I'll help you get familiar with the fretboard so you know what you're doing as you do it by teaching you the notes and quick references to help memorize them as well as expanding chord vocabulary and patterns.Lead Techniques
I can show you the licks, tricks and proper navigation of a scale on a chord progression.Finger Exercises
These are crucial to the proper development of individual technique. I cannot stress this enough. It's my belief that if you have the strength in your hand you can play anything and I have a library of exercises that will have your hands communicating in no time.Ear Training
Having a good ear is probably the number one tool every guitarist must have for success at any level. I will get you started on the proper identification of what you hear and interpreting it to the fret board.
