A guitarist of 18 years and teacher for the last five I began playing at the age of 16 which was a pretty late start but I bloomed quickly and was playing in bands by the age of 17.
Performing at parties and in high school talent shows kept me active in the teenage musical community of Brockport, NY. Having started in the late 80's era when a high level of guitar ability was required to play in rock bands I needed to keep chops up as competition was somewhat fierce.
This mentality and a good degree of self discipline drove me to play as best I could. I continued to play and record in original music bands through out my 20's performing in numerous clubs in the upstate NY area of Rochester. I relocated to the south Florida area in the mid 90's and played in hard rock/ heavy metal bands. Most notably I played in a group called FUZE which opened for the now famous NONPOINT on more than one occassion.
Eventually I developed my own solo act as a guitarist and singer as well, performing fulltime as a "one man band" doing classic rock and blues standards. In doing this my improvisation skills improved tremendously as none of my guitar solo's were the same each night. After doing this act for several years, the opportunity to perform on Carnival Cruise Lines was presented to me. This I did for over one year.
I feel very fortunate that my talent and dedication to my instrument gave me these opportunities and I continue to enjoy passing on my knowledge and experience for others to take their own talents in their own individual direction. You will not find a more patient and encouraging coach than myself.
